online scam fraud in banking
Fraud start from a telephone call , actually scam in India is not much tech savvy. They use social engineering to make people tell about their secrete passwords , otps and many other things and enable them to make fool of them without actually hacking anything.
Fraud start from a telephone call , where fraudster first do some research work on their prey and and gatter some information about them. Last week i received a call from an unknown number and person is taking my name. And saying i am your friend do you remember. First i thought some of my friend called with different and without varifying i say, yes yes i remember, then he told his name. I dont this person but as i am having my number publically placed and very big social cycle i thought he must be knowning me and i am not getting him. Then I kept on talking to him. He asked about my family and say all good. Then suddenly a shokking tone from him I listened. He said he is having some issue with his bank , so he will not be able to receive some money which is going to come online from some where and request ing me to received in my account. If i was not aware of social engineering i might have become prey of such frauds. I was having doubt on him now just to confirm i just asked your the same person who belong to Kolkata. Then he said yes same same. I was sure he is fraudster as i have never been to Kolkata and i am not having any friend in kolkata. But just to enquire , i just told him that i am ready to help him . Please tell me how to received money online and who will send money and much is the amount.
Now fraudster also under stand that person is ready , then asked me to give my debit card or creadit card details along with picture of back side. He said we will transfer money to your card. There his story ends when i say need to inform police. Then he just disconnected call.
All we know if some one need to send money card number is not required with back picture is debit card. Only we require account number and IFSC code of bank.
